Caught in a time warp between 1964 and 1974, The Vanilla Extract (Dan Reich, Michael Woods, Anne Zesiger, Doug Kassel and Rob Sherman) offers only the choicest nuggets of Folk-Rock, Garage and Psychedelia, presented by and for folks who have just enough brain cells left to remember the originals, as well as for younger generations who might be wondering what "Flower Power" was all about.

Creative harmonies blend with distinctively vintage guitar tones as TVE revisits - and occasionally reworks - classics by The Beatles, The Stones, Neil Young, The Kinks, Cream and Hendrix, as well as more esoteric gems by The Music Machine, Steppenwolf, and Buffalo Springfield.

The Vanilla Extract is available for festivals, love-ins, pool parties, backyard barbecues (especially if the food is good), birthdays, anniversaries, and any function where there's a desire for good-time retro rock with a "Summer of Love" vibe.

NEWS:

TVE performed for the third time at the Sunny Hills Children's Garden Grape Festival at Larkspur Landing on October 1, 2006, where our two-hour set was well received. A portion of it was broadcast on KGO-TV News.

The Vanilla Extract has undergone its first personnel changes in a long time. We regret to announce that our lead singer/keyboardist Joe Paulino has had to retire from rock and roll, due to a severe case of tinnitus, which limits his musical pursuits to those involving low volume. But when one door closes, another opens, and talented singer/guitarist and frequent guest Rob Sherman has become a permanent member.

During the summer of 2007, TVE captivated audiences at several private parties, and performed for a gallery opening and their fourth annual Downey Street Block Party. Check our Calendar page for upcoming shows.
